On Saturdays’ we wear Black & Garnet.

Saturdays, tailgates, and college football; a typical Saturday in the South. Being a student at the University of South Carolina has been nothing but amazing, especially because of football season. There’s just something about being in Williams Brice, the Sandstorm ringing in my ears, the fans, the family, and of course Football.  In South Carolina, it’s when old rivalries rev up again, particularly between the University of South Carolina Gamecocks and the Clemson Tigers. For me it’s about the football, of course. But also a perfect time leak my favorite game-day fashion, and for socializing.

The Essentials.

With USC’s new clear bag policy I decided to carry a bag that I could fold , this one from Entourage. However, if you’re looking for a clear bag Miss Cocky  has a huge selection to choose from! The booties are by Dolce Vita , but, they were actually purchased from Shoes on King in Charleston, SC.  They’re seriously the comfiest heels! I usually pair these essentials with a LBD and I normally wear the  Under Armour pullover with a pair of leggings while I’m lounging before the game, preparing brunch, or running some last minute errands prior to the game.

The Rundown.

The game-day experience is basically a commitment. The traffic, the heat (or chills), and the unneeded cardio. I like to wake up as early as possible and get my outfit, what I plan on taking to the game, my tickets, wristbands, and passes organized. The kickoff time usually determines when I decide to get up and at it, usually. When there’s a noon game, I’m probably up around 6 because traffic gets crazy fast. If the game is at 4 or later I’ll usually lounge around until around 9, because who doesn’t love a little extra down time? Preparation makes perfect! Waking up can be a struggle, especially on the weekends. As a graduate student the work never ends during the week but like I said, the game-day experience is a commitment. When I have no commitments prior to the game besides getting to the game, I’ll either tailgate, or catch up on other college games on the SEC network.

One thing I have to do is to always check my weather app and traffic app. It’s always important to dress according to the weather. And, incase you need to take a last minute trip to the grocery store for your favorite game-day snack , drinks , etc. You’ll know what route to take and which route not to take.
